Single Vehicle Accidents During The Last Christmas Holiday

The Christmas holidays are the most dangerous time of year for motor vehicle accidents. There is a higher concentration of fatal car accidents between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day than at other times of year. In 2025, there were more than 850 traffic fatalities in South Carolina. This year, Aiken County alone witnessed several fatal collisions, each of them involving a single vehicle. Single vehicle accidents can be deadly if the driver is driving at high speed or loses control of the car because the road is wet or icy from winter weather. Alcohol and drugs play a role in at least a third of single vehicle accidents. If you get injured in a single vehicle collision where you were a passenger, you have the right to seek compensation from the at fault driver or the driver’s insurance carrier. Even if the driver was the only occupant, he or she might be able to file a claim against other parties responsible for the accident, such as the manufacturer of a defective car part or the city or county in charge of a poorly maintained road. If you got injured in a single vehicle accident in South Carolina during the holiday season, contact a Columbia motorcycle accident lawyer.
