Our History

H. Ronald Stanley founded the Stanley Law Group in 1990 to help people navigate the legal system, and to help restore the quality of life to those who sustained a significant loss. With over 60 years of legal experience, our firm stands ready to provide creative legal solutions to meet the needs of our clients.

Based in Columbia, South Carolina, the Stanley Law Group has the experience and resources to assist you with your legal needs throughout the state of South Carolina. Our firm specializes in personal injury law and injuries resulting from car accidents, truck and tractor trailer accidents, motorcycle accidents, slip and falls, and wrongful death.

In addition to our personal injury law practice, we also specialize in real estate law and probate law/estate administration.

H. Ronald Stanley

H. Ronald Stanley is a native of Conway, South Carolina and an accomplished graduate of Virginia State College and the University of South Carolina School of Law. Mr. Stanley is licensed to practice in both State and Federal Courts of South Carolina and before the United States Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.

An accomplished Trial Lawyer, Mr. Stanley has been engaged in the practice of law in Columbia, South Carolina since 1977. He has handled numerous wrongful death and catastrophic personal injury cases resulting in significant jury verdicts and settlements for his clients. Mr. Stanley has served by special appointment as an Administrative Law Judge for the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control and for the South Carolina Alcohol and Beverage Control Commission. He is often retained to represent South Carolina State Agencies and Local Governmental entities in civil lawsuits.

Mr. Stanley is a member of the South Carolina Bar, the National Bar Association, the S.C. Association of Justice and the Richland County Bar Association. He is also a fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers and is a member of the Fourth Circuit Judicial Conference, The American Board of Trial Advocates, The John Belton O'Neall Inn of Court, Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity, The National Association of Guardsmen, Inc., and Francis Burns United Methodist Church.

Mark B. Stanley

Born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina, Mr. Stanley attended the University of South Carolina where he received his B.S. in Business Administration. While attending the University of South Carolina, Mr. Stanley was the captain of the South Carolina baseball team that went to 3 straight College World Series.

Upon completing his Bachelor's degree, Mr. Stanley earned a Master's in Business Administration and a Master's in Information Science from North Carolina Central University in Durham, North Carolina. Following the completion of his Master's degrees in 2010, Mr. Stanley attended law school at Florida A&M University College of Law in Orlando, Florida, where he received his Juris Doctorate.

Upon graduation from law school (and prior to joining the Stanley Law Group), Mr. Stanley practiced with a personal injury law firm in Orlando, Florida, where he tried several personal injury cases to verdict.

Trasha Nicole Hickman

Trasha Nicole Hickman

A native of Loris, South Carolina, Trasha Nicole Hickman graduated from Spelman College in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. She then graduated from North Carolina Central School of Law in 2002 with a Juris Doctorate. She is a member of the Richland County Bar and Epsilon of Georgia at Spelman College, Phi Beta Kappa chapter. She is an Adjunct Professor at Webster University at Fort Jackson in Columbia, South Carolina. Trasha Nicole Hickman practices law in the areas of real estate, probate, and estate planning.
